승리의 삶

운동선수들이 경기장에 입장할 때에는 모두 승리감에 불타서 당당하게 입장하는 모습을 보게 된다. 그러나 경기가 끝나고 퇴장할 때에는 그 모습이 판이하게 다르다. 승리한 팀은 기쁨이 넘치는 늠름한 모습이지만 패한 팀은 처진 모습으로 힘없이 퇴장하는 것이다.

인생은 한 편의 드라마이다. 우리 그리스도인들의 삶은 인생 드라마의 원작자이신 하나님 아버지께서 계획하신 각본에 의하여 전개되어가고 있다. 하나님께서 인류 구원을 위하여 외아들 예수 그리스도를 우리의 구주로 보내실 때 낮고 천한 인간의 몸으로 마구간에서 탄생하게 하셨다. 그 예수 그리스도는 십자가에서 죽으셨다가 삼일 만에 부활하신 후 승천하셨다. 때가 되면 심판주로 강림하실 것이다. 사망 권세를 이기시고 승리하신 예수 그리스도는 주 안에서 그를 믿는 모든 성도들을 인생드라마의 승리자가 되게 인도하고 계신다.

이제 2011년을 보내고 2012년 새해를 맞이하면서 나의 위치가 현재 어디에 있는지 점검해볼 필요가 있다. 내가 승리하신 예수 그리스도 안에서 믿음의 삶을 살고 있는지 아니면 내 자신의 육신의 생각을 좇아 살고 있는지를 살펴보아야 한다. 주 안에서 사는 것은 말씀대로 사는 것이다. 다가오는 새해에는 주 안에서 말씀을 따라 살아서 인생 경기의 승리자가 되기를 바라며 넉넉히 세상을 이기는 진정한 그리스도인의 삶을 살아가기를 기원한다.

“그러므로 내 사랑하는 형제들아 견고하며 흔들리지 말며 항상 주의 일에 더욱 힘쓰는 자들이 되라 이는 너희 수고가 주 안에서 헛되지 않은 줄을 앎이니라”(고전15:58).


The Life of Victory


When athletes enter the stadium, we can see their confident strides along with their desire for victory. However, when the competition is over and they are exiting, it is a very different picture we see. The victorious team exits in high-spirits, while the losing team do so with slumped shoulders and heads bowed.

Life is a one episode drama. As Christians, our lives unfold according to the script planned out by the Father God who is the original screenplay writer of our life’s drama. In order to save mankind, God allowed His one and only Son Jesus Christ to be born in the lowly form of a human and in a humble stable. This Jesus Christ died on the cross, and upon rising again on the third day, ascended into heaven. When the time is right, He will come again as the Lord of judgment. Jesus Christ, who conquered death and had victory over it, is leading all believers who have faith in the Lord to also have victory in their own life dramas.

As we send off 2011 and greet the New Year 2012, there is a need for us to examine where we are in our present lives. We need to closely examine whether we are living a life of faith in Jesus Christ who already had victory, or if we are rather, living in pursuit of the desires of our flesh. Living in the Lord means to live according to His Word. My wish for all of you is that in the approaching New Year, you may live your life in the Lord, according to His Word, and thus, have victory in the competition of Life. I pray that you will live like true Christians, experiencing landslide victories over this world.

“Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain”(1Cor 15:58).
